3J Towing says that the Sheriff’s office falsely accused them of criminal charges pending when 3J Towing couldn’t find any through their lawyer. The Butte County Sheriff also removed 3J from county rotation due to a civil suit, which is not ever a reason to remove a company from rotation, from what we understand. The sheriff then said he felt it best to remove them until “the matter was resolved.” The matter was resolved December 18, 2023. As of this writing (February 2024), the sheriff has yet to put them back on rotation, thereby breaking state laws about monopolies, as well as other laws. Here, we got our hands on the audio recordings of the November 2023 county commission meetings & we do our best to see if we can sort through what was said to find out the truth…which it seems 3J was telling the truth after all.
